Everyone knows that a `help` command will result in `more information`.
This commit moves the version string to the second line and adds some
verve to the welcome.
If anyone can't live without the old banner, they are now able to
configure it explicitly, so there is still no blood on our hands.

REPL tests now lop off the actual length of the welcome header; or, if
necessary, remove the version number from a header embedded in output.

Closing the REPL with Ctrl+D does not issue a newline, so the user's
prompt displays on the same line as the `scala>` prompt. This is bad.
We now force a newline before closing the interpreter, and display
`:quit` while we're at it so that people know how to exit the REPL
(since `exit` doesn't exist anymore).
The tricky part was to only add a newline when the console is
interrupted, and *not* when it is closed by a command (like `:quit`),
since commands are processed after their text (including newline) has
been sent to the console.

One last flurry with the broom before I leave you slobs to code
in your own filth. Eliminated all the trailing whitespace I
could manage, with special prejudice reserved for the test cases
which depended on the preservation of trailing whitespace.
Was reminded I cannot figure out how to eliminate the trailing
space on the "scala> " prompt in repl transcripts. At least
reduced the number of such empty prompts by trimming transcript
code on the way in.
Routed ConsoleReporter's "printMessage" through a trailing
whitespace stripping method which might help futureproof
against the future of whitespace diseases. Deleted the up-to-40
lines of trailing whitespace found in various library files.
It seems like only yesterday we performed whitespace surgery
on the whole repo. Clearly it doesn't stick very well. I suggest
it would work better to enforce a few requirements on the way in.

Some scalac output is on stderr, and it's useful to see that
in the log file, especially for debugging.
Adds a line filter for logs, specified as "filter: pattern"
in the test source.
Backslashes are made forward only when detected as paths.
Test alignments:
Deprecations which do not pertain to the system under test
are corrected in the obvious way.
When testing deprecated API, suppress warnings by deprecating
the Test object.
Check files are updated with useful true warnings, instead of
running under -nowarn.
Language feature imports as required, instead of running under -language.
Language feature not required, such as casual use of postfix.
Heed useful warning.
Ignore broken warnings. (Rarely, -nowarn.)
Inliner warnings pop up under -optimise only, so for now, just
filter them out where they occur.
Debug output from the test required an update.

The fix for SI-6146 introduced `nestedMemberType` to
enumerate sealed subtypes based on the (prefixed) type
of the scrutinee and the symbols of its sealed subclasses.
That method needed to widen `ThisType(modSym)`s to
`ModuleTypeRef(modSym)` before calling `asSeenFrom`.
However, this could lead to confused in the match analysis,
which sees `ModuleTypeRef` as distinct from singleton types
on the same modules (after all, they aren't =:=). Spurious
warnings ensued.
This commit makes two changes:
- conditionally re-narrow the result of `asSeenFrom` in `nestedMemberType`.
- present `a.b.SomeModule.type` as `SomeModule` in warnings emitted
by the pattern matcher.

When analysing exhaustivity/reachability of type tests
and equality tests, the pattern matcher must construct
a set of sealed subtypes based on the prefix of the
static type of and the set of sealed descendent symbols
of that type.
Previously, it was using `memberType` for this purpose.
In simple cases, this is sufficient:
scala> class C { class I1; object O { class I2 } }; object D extends C
defined class C
defined module D
scala> typeOf[D.type] memberType typeOf[C#I1].typeSymbol
res0: u.Type = D.I1
But, as reported in this bug, it fails when there is an
additional level of nesting:
scala> typeOf[D.type] memberType typeOf[c.O.I2 forSome { val c: C }].typeSymbol
res5: u.Type = C.O.I2
This commit introduces `nestedMemberType`, which uses `memberType`
recursively up the prefix chain prefix chain.
scala> nestedMemberType(typeOf[c.O.I2 forSome { val c: C }].typeSymbol, typeOf[D.type], typeOf[C].typeSymbol)
res6: u.Type = D.O.Id
